Dr. Issac Lidsky talked about how our fears shaped our reality. As the human race we fear what we don't know, and dismiss what we don't understand. Dr. Lidsky said that if we don't confront our fears then we will live them just like how he confronted the fear he had about his blindness. Dr. Lidsky made an example of when a young girl thought that if fish swam forward using their tails then they swim backwards using their heads. That was how she saw things. That little girl saw things on the perception that there had some logical way that fish swim backwards. Holden Caulfield, a character in the book Cather In The Rye , saw his reality in the way he did because of the fear he felt after his younger brother died.
